A teacher is like a gardener, he doesn't make kids grow, he helps them grow into what they really are.
On second thoughts, that's the way ideas should be treated by a thinker too. He should let them grow in their own paths, and not twist them around. I often meet this while programming a solution for a complex problem: If the solution is not "natural" and flowing, it is often an indicator that there are better ways waiting for me to nurture them into maturity :)
